i-Pump
My name is Marco Christoforou. My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in September 2007, just before her 8th birthday.
What disappoints me is there is nothing really convenient and discreet that diabetics can wear that makes delivery of insulin shots convenient. The present insulin pumps are not small and (in my opinion) somewhat cumbersome.
I'm a real techy, I have two degrees in Physics and have software and electronics skills. I'm able to put my mind to most technical things so I was sure I could come up with something that would make my daughters life better. Well, much to my own surprise, I'm almost there. I have proved the concept and now I'm gradually refining the software and preparing to package everything up into a pump that should be around 30mm x 45mm x 6mm. That's small, and slim.
If you think you can help in anyway please get in touch.
