Reservoir Development Progress

This is easily the most challenging part of the project, and a good solution has so far eluded me. Luckily I have the assistance of an excellent engineer at Malaga University, Francisco Garcia Vacas. He has designed and fabricated some experimental prototype reservoirs.

Syringe Style

Unfortunately this did not work. But this was no surprise as we were aware that the Bartels pump would probably not be able to overcome the resistance of the plunger in the syringe; but it was worth trying. Actually, I this could still work if we could get that resistance down. But as far as I understand it Francisco made this up out of an existing BD syringe - great work, thanks.

Spiral

So here is my spiral idea. It's not surprising that this works - it could hardly fail, but neither me nor Francisco are very keen on this approach. It doesn't hold a lot of insulin either.

Collapsible Bag

I think this is the best idea. Again designed by Francisco, he's hoping to have a prototype built. I love the design of this.
